Imphal: Manipur Director General of Police Mukesh Singh toured Kakching and Chandel districts on June 29 to audit security forces and police readiness. He wants more patrols to protect farmers in vulnerable spots. He also demanded faster case closures and a relentless hunt for anti-national actors.

The DGP made illegal arms recovery a top priority for his force. He believes this is essential for long-term peace. During his briefings, he told officers that personnel demonstrating exemplary professionalism, commitment and efficiency in the discharge of their duties would be appropriately recognised and rewarded.

At the 8th Manipur Rifles base, Singh pushed for stricter discipline and better resource management. He also checked in with civil society leaders to discuss community policing and local security hurdles. It is all about teamwork.

In Chandel, the police chief opened a new cyber cell to catch tech-savvy criminals. He encouraged local youth to join the force to bolster community ties. The state is trying to modernize while cleaning up the streets.
