Imphal: Manipur Director General of Police Mukesh Singh toured Tengnoupal district on July 24 to overhaul border security. He demanded aggressive action against anti-national groups. Singh arrived with the Additional Director General of Police for Law and Order to inspect the District Police Office. They checked policing plans and the current security status.
The DGP wants results. He ordered faster criminal investigations, stronger anti-drug drives, and the recovery of illegal arms. Coordination is key. He told officers, "sustained operations against anti-national elements" remain the priority for maintaining stability.
Singh held high-level strategy meetings at Moreh. He met with Commandants from the 36 Assam Rifles and 3 Assam Rifles plus local police commandos to sync border management. The visit included a ground inspection of Gate No. 1 and Gate No. 2 at the international crossing to check surveillance tech. He also spoke with civil society leaders and representatives from the Tamil, Kuki, Nepali, and Meitei Pangal communities to gauge local sentiment.
The trip concluded in Kwatha village. Singh checked on residents and stationed personnel from the District Police, Central Armed Police Forces, and Assam Rifles. He wants total synergy across all force branches to keep the region quiet.
