Manipur Opens Police Museum Honoring Force's Legacy and Sacrifice

Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Y Khemchand Singh opened the newly established Manipur Police Museum on May 29. Located at the 1st Manipur Rifles Battalion Complex, the facility is designed to celebrate the history, evolution, and service of state police personnel.

During the inauguration, the Chief Minister toured the site alongside Director General of Police Rajiv Singh and other senior officials. He noted that the museum serves as a permanent tribute to the courage and dedication shown by generations of officers. Commanding Officer of the 1st Manipur Rifles, Khoisnam Sarma Devi, provided a detailed briefing on the artifacts housed within the collection.

The museum showcases an extensive array of historical items, including antique weapons dating back to the Second World War. Visitors can also view archived photographs, vintage uniforms, and high-frequency radio transceivers that the force utilized during the late 1990s.

Following the museum event, the Chief Minister traveled to the Manipur Police Headquarters in Mantripukhri. There, he officially opened a new creche facility located on the ground floor to support the department staff.
