Manipur MP Pushes Centre for Faster IDP Support

Imphal: Manipur Rajya Sabha MP A. Sharda Devi met Union Minister for Women and Child Development Annapurna Devi at Parliament House on July 29. She pressed the Centre to speed up approval for pending state government proposals. The talks centered on the ongoing socio-political crisis currently gripping Manipur.

Sharda Devi, who also serves as the Manipur BJP president, focused her request on the urgent welfare and rehabilitation of internally displaced persons. She argued that the state needs timely intervention and better support for all affected communities. She voiced these concerns to ensure the government acts before conditions worsen.

Following the meeting, Sharda Devi took to social media to summarize the discussion. She stated that she requested the Union minister to facilitate the early approval of the state's pending proposals and demands. According to the MP, the Union Minister offered a positive response. Annapurna Devi assured her that the Ministry of Women and Child Development would "extend all possible assistance to the people of the state and give due consideration to the issues raised during the meeting."
