Manipur Hosts First National All India Strongman Championship

Imphal: T-Fit Manipur brought the heat to the Chumthang Sports Complex on Sunday. They hosted the first-ever national All India Strongman Championship in Imphal West. Athletes rolled into town from Haryana, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, and across Manipur. The competition drew a massive crowd to witness raw power.

Competitors faced a brutal gauntlet of challenges. Events included the truck pull, press medley, tyre flip, carry medley, cheat curl, hammer hold, deadlift, and stone medley. Men and women fought through amateur and professional divisions across weight classes ranging from under-75 kg to above-90 kg. Organisers said the championship "highlighted the expanding popularity of strongman sports in the region."

Women stepped up for tyre flips and deadlifts. This push aims to grow strength sports and get more local youth and women into the game. The day ended with a ceremony to hand out trophies and celebrate the winners. T-Fit Manipur expects this success will bring more high-level events to the state soon.
