Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh shared how martial arts icon Bruce Lee shaped his life during a film event in Imphal this week. The 63-year-old leader explained that watching the film Enter the Dragon in the late 1970s served as a major turning point, prompting him to travel to Lucknow to study Taekwondo.

The Chief Minister has practiced martial arts since age 16, maintaining his training throughout his political career. A black belt holder, he previously served as the vice-president of the Taekwondo Federation of India. He also founded the All Assam Taekwondo Association in 1982 and has worked extensively to promote the sport across Northeast India.

During his address, Singh emphasized the power of cinema to inspire and influence audiences. He pledged that the Manipur government would provide full support to help the local film industry continue to grow and succeed.
