Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh Named President of Sanamahi Temple Board

Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh assumed the role of President of the Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Board on Sunday. He took his oath during a ceremony held at the Lainingthou Sanamahi Temple Complex in Imphal, where he was greeted by board members, religious leaders, and devotees.

The board manages affairs for followers of the Sanamahi faith across the state. As part of the inauguration, the Chief Minister participated in a sapling plantation drive intended to represent the protection of Manipur's indigenous spiritual heritage and cultural traditions.

During his address, Khemchand emphasized that maintaining traditional customs is essential for societal development. He committed his administration to protecting these practices and called for structured planning and strict adherence to administrative guidelines for future development projects at the site. Representatives from the Kabui, Chothe, and Maring communities presented the Chief Minister with traditional shawls during the event to honor his new appointment.
