Manipur Chief Minister Opens New Police Museum in Imphal

Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh officially opened the Manipur Police Museum at the 1st Manipur Rifles complex in Imphal today. Director General of Police Rajiv Singh and Commanding Officer Khoisnam Sarma Devi welcomed the Chief Minister before providing a guided tour of the historical collection.

The museum showcases several significant artifacts, including antique weaponry from the Second World War. Visitors can also view archived photographs detailing the force's history and radio transceivers that were standard equipment for the Manipur Police during the late 1990s.

Following the museum inauguration, the Chief Minister traveled to the Manipur Police Headquarters in Mantripukhri to unveil a new ground-floor creche. During his visit to the headquarters, he toured various departmental offices and held a briefing with senior police officials in Conference Room Block-A.

The tour concluded with an inspection of the building's fifth floor. This level houses an array of amenities for staff, including an auditorium, a gym, an aerobic and yoga studio, and a dedicated officers lounge.
