Manipur Chief Minister hands out PMFME subsidies to thousands

Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh handed out subsidies to 2,835 people on September 17. The event took place at Yumnam Leikai Yumjao Lairembi Lampak in Imphal. The money comes from the Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises scheme.

These funds help small, unorganized food shops grow. The goal is to bring these businesses into the formal economy. It provides a boost for local entrepreneurs. The Chief Minister shared his thoughts online. He stated, "The initiative would help small and unorganised food-processing businesses upgrade their operations, expand their enterprises and transition into the formal economy."

Several officials watched the handouts. Caretaker Mayor Laishangbam Lokeshwor Singh attended. Ward 15 Corporator Th. Bankim Singh joined him. Ward 16 Corporator Th. Eliza Devi and Singjamei Mandal BJP President L. Shantikumar Sharma were also present. This push aims to strengthen food operations across Manipur.
