Manipur Chief Minister Condemns Killing of Civilian in Kangpokpi

Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh has condemned the killing of 58-year-old Chunjanglung Panmei, who was murdered on Monday morning in Kangpokpi district. Panmei, a resident of the Rongmei Naga village of Pongringlong Part-I, was identified as the victim in an official statement released by the state government.

The Chief Minister expressed deep anguish over the loss of life and described the incident as a "heinous and cowardly act" against an innocent civilian. He offered his condolences to the bereaved family and promised the government would provide them with full support during this difficult time.

Authorities have mobilized state police and central paramilitary forces to launch operations aimed at identifying and apprehending those responsible for the crime. The Chief Minister stated that the state government views the matter with extreme seriousness and intends to bring the perpetrators to justice under the rule of law.

In response to the violence, the Chief Minister appealed to all communities to remain calm and maintain harmony. He urged the public to avoid falling for provocations that threaten the stability of the region and asked for full cooperation with law enforcement agencies to preserve order.
