Manipur Boosts Rural Wages Under New Employment Scheme

Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Y Khemchand Singh launched the Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission on Thursday. The state aims to bolster rural livelihoods. New jobs are coming.

Singh confirmed a pay hike for workers. Daily wages jumped from Rs 283 to Rs 300. This move provides direct financial relief to those living in rural areas.

The program targets long-term economic growth. It aligns with the national goal of a developed India by 2047. Singh noted the initiative would contribute to achieving Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of Viksit Bharat @2047 by strengthening rural livelihoods and expanding employment opportunities.

The Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj hosted the event. Local officials and stakeholders gathered to discuss the rollout. The government expects the scheme to sustain rural development.
