Imphal: The Kuki Inpi Manipur organization is demanding the immediate release of 14 Kuki-Zo individuals who remain in detention in the Senapati district. The group claims these people were meant to be escorted to Kangpokpi but were intercepted by the Senapati District Students Association. According to the organization, this detention occurred while police and representatives from the Naga People’s Organisation were present at the scene.

An FIR has been filed regarding the incident, but the organization reports that authorities have failed to take any action against the individuals responsible. They also noted that several vehicles linked to the case, including seven trucks and one car, remain missing and have not been recovered by investigators.

The group raised concerns about unequal law enforcement, pointing to the rapid arrests made during investigations into the disappearance of six Naga individuals. In contrast, they highlighted that no arrests have followed the killing of three Kuki-Zo church leaders. They argued that such selective justice threatens to weaken public trust in the neutrality of local authorities.

Kuki Inpi Manipur warned that this lack of progress could escalate regional tensions. They are urging officials to conduct an impartial investigation to ensure that justice is applied fairly across all communities.
