Imphal: Kangpokpi district officials gathered on July 1 to overhaul their fight against narcotics. District Collector Mahesh Chaudhari led the Narco Coordination Centre meeting. He gathered leaders from the State Police, Border Security Force, and Central Reserve Police Force to map out the next phase of the crackdown.

The team finalized a 10-point action plan. They want to pinpoint trafficking hotspots and torch illegal poppy fields. Chaudhari pushed for total cooperation across all agencies. He told attendees, "coordinated action is crucial in tackling the drug menace," and demanded that departments keep their eyes open for any movement of contraband.

The plan goes beyond just policing. Officials will tighten the screws on local pharmacies to stop drug misuse. They also aim to push awareness campaigns into every school and college in the district. Village leaders will get involved to help spot risks early. Vulnerable farmers will receive agricultural support to shift away from illegal crops. The administration intends to keep the pressure high to keep the district drug-free.
