Kohima: The College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry in Jalukie hosted a career counselling session on Saturday. The school operates under the Central Agricultural University in Imphal. Staff organized the event through the college Placement Cell to guide students toward new job markets.
Dr. Rituraj Knowar, a Scientist-F at the CSIR-North East Institute of Science and Technology in Jorhat, led the lecture. He spoke on recent advances in reproductive biotechnology. Knowar also detailed how nanotechnology and quantum dots apply to biomedical sciences. He urged the student body to stay current with these shifting technical fields.
Innovation matters. Knowar told the students to sharpen their scientific skills rather than chasing only government roles. He specifically advised them to start their own biotechnology firms. "Do not depend solely on government jobs but to explore self-employment opportunities, including biotechnology-based enterprises and other entrepreneurial ventures," Knowar said.
Dr. S.K. Borthakur, the head of the Placement Cell Committee, welcomed the guest. Dr. Bhabesh Mili coordinated the event as a member secretary. Dr. A. Palanisammi closed the program by thanking the staff and students for their participation in the training day.
