Kohima: College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry in Jalukie, Peren, marked Rajbhasha Week from September 16 to 22, 2026. The event drew faculty, staff, and students together. Dr. I. Shakuntala, the college dean, spoke on the value of linguistic diversity and national unity. She noted how language ties the country together.
Dr. Brijesh Kumar from the Nagaland University Department of Hindi served as the special guest. He gave a lecture on the use of Hindi in government duties. He pushed the attendees to adopt the language for both formal tasks and daily talk. "Hindi as the official language and its use" remained the central theme of his address. He wants more people to speak and write with confidence.
Participants competed in Hindi solo singing, oral word tests, written word challenges, and poem recitations. The event committee included Convener Dr. Tukheswar Chutia and Co-convener Dr. Amrit Gogoi. Dr. Rabeya Begam and student Bishal Roy also helped run the program.
