International University and WCSU Host Career Guidance Event

Kohima: International University joined forces with the Western Chakhesang Students’ Union to host a one-day career guidance event on Tuesday. Students and parents packed the campus at Sodzülhou and Kozabe Village for the session. The meeting focused on smart academic planning and local education prospects.

Dr. Roopam Bachhil, the registrar for the university, delivered the keynote address. She pushed students to pick paths based on their actual skills and current job trends. She said, "Urged students to make informed academic choices based on aptitude, interests and emerging employment opportunities." Local education remains a top priority due to lower costs and proximity to family, she noted.

Prof. Zavise Rume laid out the skills needed to survive the modern workforce. He emphasized creativity, problem-solving, and adaptability. Fields like technology, healthcare, and tourism offer the most promise for graduates. Dr. Durga Malakar followed up with a breakdown of internships, scholarships, and admission steps.

The event wrapped up with an open floor where families grilled the experts on their career goals. WCSU president Arazo Nyekha thanked the university for the partnership. The program pushed for better youth leadership and clearer education pathways across Nagaland.
