Kohima: International University Nagaland teamed up with the Western Chakhesang Students' Union to hold a one-day career guidance event at the university campus in Chümoukedima. The session drew students, parents, and faculty to map out paths for higher education and skill training.
IUN Registrar Dr. Roopam Bachhil told students to pick schools based on their own interests and real-world job needs. She pushed for studying locally, noting that state institutions now offer better industry links and affordable degrees. She argued that local education keeps students near family while fueling regional growth.
Prof. Zavise Rume, Director of IUN, spoke on shifting job markets. He pushed for creativity and digital skills. "The future job market increasingly values creativity, communication, problem-solving, digital literacy and adaptability," Rume stated. He pointed toward growing sectors like technology, healthcare, and agriculture as top bets for graduates.
WCSU president Arazo Nyekha thanked the university for the outreach. He urged the students to take advantage of the mentorship on offer. The event wrapped with a session led by Joint Registrar Dr. Durga Malakar, who detailed the school's scholarship options and admission steps for incoming students.
