Guwahati: A private school in Guwahati has launched a formal investigation after discovering that digitally manipulated images featuring students and staff were being circulated. The administration became aware of the situation on June 11 and took immediate action to address the breach of privacy.

The school has referred the case to its Child Abuse Monitoring Committee to conduct a preliminary inquiry. As part of the response, administrators have held meetings with the affected parents and guardians to discuss the situation. The institution stressed that it maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding cyber misconduct, harassment, and the misuse of digital platforms.

To maintain the integrity of the investigation, the school has placed the students directly involved under suspension. Officials stated they will determine final disciplinary steps based on their findings and relevant laws once the probe concludes. In an official statement released on Friday, the school addressed the community by saying, "We treat matters relating to student safety, dignity, privacy and the responsible use of technology with utmost seriousness."

The administration has asked families and students to avoid sharing unverified content or images linked to the incident. They warned that spreading such material may cause unnecessary distress and interfere with the ongoing internal investigation.
