Guwahati: Guwahati Police intercepted a truck near the Inter-State Bus Terminal on August 13 and seized a massive haul of illegal narcotics. The stash holds an estimated street value of 39.4 crore. Two suspects are in custody.

Officers pulled 10 soap cases filled with heroin from the vehicle. They also found 1,40,000 Yaba tablets hidden inside the truck. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed the bust on social media.

Sarma celebrated the haul online. He posted, "Mirror mirror on the wall, tell me how much drugs in all? 39.4 crore!" He noted that this operation is part of a broader push to stop drug trafficking and is aimed at "saving the future of our youth."

The Assam Police continue to hit traffickers hard. They frequently pull heroin and Yaba shipments coming into the state from nearby regions. This seizure ranks among the largest recoveries in recent months.
