Imphal: The Federation of Haomee declared anyone supplying goods or aid to the Kuki community an enemy. President Sapamcha Jadumani issued the warning this week. The group demands the Meitei and Naga communities enforce a strict economic blockade on all Kuki-inhabited areas. They insist this measure is the only way to stop ongoing attacks from Kuki armed groups.
The Federation claims these armed factions hold advanced weaponry. They state the government failed to act since ethnic violence erupted on May 3, 2023. This conflict has caused mass destruction and deaths. The group expressed deep frustration over the lack of government response regarding missing persons and the casualties of the crisis.
Jadumani urged the public to watch out for politicians backing Kuki refugees. He alleged these leaders are working to satisfy the demands of what he called "Kuki foreigners." The group claims valley residents suffer under prolonged blockades on National Highways while their pleas for justice go ignored.
Indigenous communities must maintain this pressure. The blockade remains in place until the government accounts for missing persons and ensures those they label as Kuki foreigners leave the state.
