Imphal: The Election Commission of India has officially launched the Enumeration Phase of the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls in Odisha, Mizoram, Sikkim, and Manipur. This initiative, which began on May 30, is part of a broader nationwide effort to ensure voter lists are accurate by adding eligible citizens and removing ineligible entries.

Ordered on May 14 under the Constitution and the Representation of the People Act, the revision spans 16 states and three Union Territories. Booth Level Officers are currently conducting house-to-house visits to verify information and collect Enumeration Forms. Residents can also submit their applications online.

Citizens must submit their forms to the Electoral Registration Officer by June 28, 2026, to ensure inclusion in the upcoming draft electoral rolls. Those who miss this deadline may still submit Form 6 during the subsequent claims and objections period. To boost participation, recognized political parties may authorize Booth Level Agents to collect and submit up to 50 forms daily.

Current data indicates a vast administrative effort across the four states. Odisha holds the largest electorate with over 33.4 million voters supported by 38,123 officers, followed by Manipur with 2.09 million, Mizoram with 875,008, and Sikkim with 471,077. The Election Commission is urging the public to cooperate with officials throughout this verification process.
