Elderly man robbed on road to Wokha

Kohima: Two unidentified people robbed Ekyimo Ngullie, 96, on Tuesday morning. The victim walked from Longla village toward Wokha town when he was intercepted. The incident occurred between 8 am and 9 am in a secluded stretch of forest near Saron Colony. The thieves stopped him between a local waiting shed and a prayer centre.

The attackers covered the victim's face before grabbing his cash and documents. They fled the scene immediately after the robbery. Ngullie avoided physical injury during the struggle. Family members confirmed the details of the encounter.

Police have started an investigation into the matter. A family member confirmed that a First Information Report (FIR) is now on file. Officers took Ngullie back to the scene to inspect the area. An official noted the difficulty of the case: "Ngullie was unable to identify the suspects as his face was covered during the incident." Police continue to look for the perpetrators.
