Shillong: Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui recently addressed the closing ceremony of a student exchange program at the Indian Institute of Management Shillong, celebrating the strength found in India's diverse traditions and languages. The event hosted a delegation of students from Telangana as part of a collaborative initiative between the National Institute of Technology Warangal and IIM Shillong.
Rymbui highlighted that cultural exchanges allow young people to experience different regions first-hand, fostering deeper connections and understanding across the country. He encouraged the visiting students to serve as ambassadors for Meghalaya and the Northeast, sharing the lessons they learned with their home communities. By engaging with new cultures, participants were able to build lasting friendships while gaining a broader perspective on the collective identity of India.
During his speech, the minister reminded the students that humanity transcends regional or cultural differences. He urged them to maintain their commitment to progress and duty, stating, "Let us live as brothers and sisters. Let us learn from one another, respect one another, and carry a sense of duty towards humanity and society. Together, we can build a stronger and more united India." The ceremony concluded with Rymbui presenting certificates to the delegates to recognize their successful completion of the program.
