Dimapur Officials Prep Rural Development Plans for 2026

Kohima: Rural development officials gathered in Dimapur on July 3 to plot out local growth. They held the session at the DRDA Conference Hall to train staff for the People's Plan Campaign. This work targets the Gram Panchayat Development Plan for the 2026-27 financial year.

Project Director Limameren Yaden spoke at the event. He told attendees that the plan is vital for the future. He noted, "The Gram Panchayat Development Plan forms the foundation for inclusive and sustainable rural development."

West Dimapur Block Development Officer Jacob Zeliang opened the meeting. He called for better teamwork between local groups and field staff. Bichano Humtsoe, a manager with the Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan, ran the technical workshops. She explained how to build plans that actually reflect what rural communities need.

Twelve different government departments sent representatives to the hall. These workers spent the day hashing out ways to cooperate on the ground. The Department of Rural Development is pushing for this convergence to make sure no projects fall through the cracks. They plan to keep guiding the process to ensure these local development goals become a reality.
