Dimapur Officials Host Mine Safety Seminar

Kohima: The Directorate of Geology and Mining held a safety seminar in Dimapur on July 10. Town Hall hosted the event. Officials aimed to sharpen the focus on environmental protection and mine safety standards.

Er. Ibrahim Sharief, the Deputy Controller of Mines at the Indian Bureau of Mines, led the technical session. He urged operators to follow federal rules. Sharief said the goal is focusing on "mine safety, sustainable mining practices, environmental protection measures, and the importance of complying with statutory regulations governing mining operations."

Director Newmai Asingbow gave the keynote address to the crowd. Coal mining license holders and village council members sat in the audience. Er. Chirhotho Rasutho chaired the day. Er. Kereisiezo Sachu closed the session with a vote of thanks.
