Kohima: Five Dimapur neighborhood councils sat down with top brass from the local police force this past Friday. The meeting took place at the Deputy Commissioner of Police office. It aimed to tackle the growing safety concerns facing city residents.
The Joint Council Forum brought together leaders from the NST Colony Council, Churches Colony Council, Middle Point Council, Nyamo Lotha Colony Council, and Khermahal Area Council. They faced a lineup of high-ranking officers, including the Deputy Commissioner of Police, the Assistant Commissioner of Police, and the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police. Officers-in-charge from the East and West police stations joined the session as well.
Talks focused on security gaps and day-to-day challenges. Both sides looked for practical fixes to local problems. The group agreed to keep lines of communication open to improve public order. They plan to work as a team to make the city safer. As the session ended, officials highlighted a "commitment from both sides to maintain mutual cooperation and support in addressing issues affecting the public."
