Kohima: The Business Owners Forum in Dimapur is rebranding. It dropped the term Nagarjan from its official name. This follows recent public confusion regarding the group's origins. The organization now simply goes by Business Owners Forum.
The group operates as an independent body. Entrepreneurs formed it to look out for their own interests. They want to ensure their community runs in an orderly fashion. The reference to Nagarjan served only to describe their office location. It never meant to imply authority from any village council or traditional institution.
Tensions eased after a sit-down with the Kuda Village Council. The Forum promised to stop using the term entirely. In a formal statement, the organization explained, "The Forum clarified that its official name is Business Owners Forum." They insist this move shows respect for local customary authorities.
The group has no desire to interfere with village functions. They maintain that their members joined voluntarily. They want the public to stop misreading the situation. The Forum claims this name change grants them no special jurisdiction. They plan to keep working transparently and lawfully. They remain committed to their original goals of supporting local trade.
