Guwahati: Captain Denish Das crushed an unbeaten 72 off 45 balls to lead the Barpeta Braves past the Nagaon Rangers. The 70-run win keeps the Braves moving. After losing their first two games, the team now sits in third place with four points from four matches.

Das hammered four boundaries and six sixes to reach the Braves' total of 170. He attributed the turnaround to a sharp mental shift. "I relied on my natural game and instinct," Das said regarding his performance. He also noted that the Assam Premier League serves as a prime stage for local players to gain television exposure and grab the attention of scouts.

The Rangers crumbled during the chase. They were bowled out for just 100 runs. Barpeta bowlers dismantled the opposition lineup with ease. Bikiran Das grabbed 4/13, while Shubham Kumar Gupta finished with 3/8. The duo combined for seven wickets to seal the result.

Das has his sights set on the Duleep Trophy once this tournament wraps up. For now, he remains focused on consistent play. The Braves hope to carry this momentum into their next outing.
