Guwahati: The inaugural Assam Premier League kicks off on August 1, 2026. Eight teams will battle across 43 matches to determine the first champion. The tournament spans 23 days of play. It finishes with a final showdown on August 23 at 7:00 PM.
The league schedule includes 40 league-stage games and two semi-finals. Every team plays each opponent once during the initial stage. Three additional reverse fixtures per team pack the calendar. Only the top four teams move on to the semi-finals on August 21.
Opening day delivers a double-header. The Charaideo Sunrisers play the Barpeta Braves at 2:00 PM. Tezpur Titans take on Dibrugarh Warriors at 7:00 PM. Play continues August 2 with Barak Legends facing Nagaon Rangers. The Guwahati Royals start their run against the Jorhat Stallions later that evening.
Organizers expect the league to serve as a major stage for local talent. Officials noted that the event is "expected to provide a major platform for emerging cricketers to showcase their talent and create new cricketing rivalries in Assam." The franchises represent regions spanning the entire state.
