Guwahati: Assam cricketers Uma Chetry and Jintimani Kalita landed spots on the India A Women's squads for the upcoming series against Australia A. The Assam Cricket Association confirmed the roster spots yesterday. This tour features three T20s, three one-day matches, and one four-day multi-day game.
Chetry, a wicketkeeper-batter, will play in the T20 and one-day squads. Kalita, an all-rounder, made the cut for all three formats of the tour. The T20 series kicks off in New Chandigarh from September 12 to 17. The action shifts to the PCA Stadium in Mohali for three one-day matches running September 20 to 25. The tour wraps up with a four-day match in Dharamsala from September 29 to October 2.
ACA secretary Sanjatan Das praised the news. He noted the achievement represents a major step for the state players. "Their selection marked a significant achievement and reflected the growing presence of Assam cricketers in the national setup," said Das. The association sent its congratulations to both athletes ahead of the series.
