Kohima: The Common Service Centre (CSC) District Village Level Entrepreneur Cooperative Society Ltd. is fighting back against fraud. It issued a warning today regarding the National Scholarship Portal application process in Dimapur, Niuland, and Chümoukedima. The society reports that scammers are intimidating students and parents. These individuals falsely claim that applications must go through specific people or offices to avoid rejection.
Some fraudsters are even using the names of the district education office to trick schools. They pretend they have official authority to handle government paperwork. The society reached out to the district education office to verify these claims. The office confirmed no such mandates exist. "No private individual has been appointed or authorised to exclusively collect or process NSP applications," the society stated. Students can use any authorized service provider or the government portal directly.
The group also flagged a rise in fake income certificates. Uploading false documents results in application rejection and potential criminal charges. Any individual or service provider caught coercing students will face strict consequences. Parents must get income certificates from official government sources only. The society is urging everyone to stay sharp. Keep the application process transparent and avoid anyone trying to enforce a monopoly.
