Kohima: The 173 Bn CRPF held a Civic Action Programme on September 22 at its Powergrid location in Dimapur. The force handed out solar lamps to 16 families from Kuda-B Village, Full Nagarjan, and Phaipijang. Withuiliu Newmai, Assistant Commandant and Officer Commanding for F/173 Bn, led the event. She stated that such programs help in "bridging the gap between the security forces and the local populace and in strengthening mutual trust, cooperation and goodwill." Dr. Kaustav Jyoti Kalita, Chief Manager of Powergrid in Dimapur, joined local Gaon Buras and village representatives at the ceremony.
Separately, the C/173 Bn CRPF team hosted an event at their DEF Camp headquarters in Chuchuyimpang, Mokokchung. They handed out water storage tanks to several schools, a church, and local residents. Recipients included Government Middle School and Government Primary School in Chuchuyimpang, GMS Amenyong in Khensa, the DEF Police Church, and a local youth club.
P. Nilakanta Singh, Assistant Commandant and Company Commander of C/173 Bn, noted the aid benefits the daily welfare of these communities. Temsuchuba Jamir, SDO of Mokokchung, attended the event along with Guest of Honour Subash Arambam, who serves as the Assistant Director of Printing and Stationery. Headmasters from Chuchuyimpang schools, a teacher from GMS Amenyong, and the Khensa Village Council Chairman also made appearances.
