Coal Truck Blocks Haflong-Silchar Highway

Guwahati: A coal-laden truck broke down on National Highway 27, killing traffic flow in Assam. The rig got stuck in the Dolaichung area under the Harangajao Police Station on July 17. The road is a vital link between Haflong and Silchar.

Hundreds of cars and trucks remain trapped on both sides of the blockage. Drivers and goods carriers sit in long, idle queues. Motorists face a grim reality: "motorists have been advised to avoid the Haflong-Silchar route or be prepared for significant delays until the road is cleared."

Authorities plan to clear the mess soon. They aim to restore movement on the Dima Hasao district highway. Until then, the gridlock holds.
