Kohima: Chumoukedima district officials issued an urgent travel advisory for the NH-29 highway on Wednesday. Monsoon rains have spiked the risk of rockfalls and landslides along the stretch from Chathe Bridge to the Kukidolong bridge. Authorities warned drivers to exercise extreme care, especially during heavy downpours and after dark.

Deputy Commissioner Polan John stated that the administration expects commuters to follow traffic diversions and obey onsite officials. The left lane of the four-lane road faces potential closure without warning. Keep your eyes on the road. The district administration noted the shifting conditions and reminded the public that "the left-hand side (LHS) carriageway of the four-lane highway may be temporarily closed to traffic without prior notice whenever necessary."

Officials also warned against spreading unverified rumors about road conditions. Stick to official updates to avoid confusion. Cooperation remains the only way to maintain safety on this volatile route.
