Chakma Groups Donate Over Rs 72,000 for Arunachal Flood Relief

Itanagar: Chakma community organizations handed over Rs 72,751 to the Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Relief Fund on Sunday. The money will help families suffering from recent floods. An All India Chakma Students Union delegation delivered the cash to Extra Assistant Commissioner T. Tama in Diyun.

The group included AICSU president Adv. Drishyamuni Chakma, APCSU general secretary Abhish Chakma, and AICSU organizing secretary Chikond Chand Chakma. Chakma Mahila Samiti organizing secretary Korishma Chakma also attended alongside representatives Roopa Chakma and Juni Chakma. They raised the total through a massive donation drive involving students, teachers, local traders, and wage earners.

Drishyamuni Chakma spoke at the event. He said it was the moral responsibility of every citizen to stand with people during times of crisis. He thanked everyone who helped.

T. Tama accepted the funds. He praised the volunteers for their work and noted that collective action builds compassion. The AICSU also thanked local supporters including the New Rising English Academy, Sneha School, Karuna Vidya Niketan, and the Diyun Bazaar Committee. Other contributors included staff and students from government schools in Dumpather and Gautampur, plus residents of Bijoypur.
