Shillong: North-Eastern Hill University in Shillong awarded a PhD to Bishal Pun. He earned the degree for his deep study of endophytic fungi living within local orchids. His research focused on the “Characterization and bioactivity analysis of endophytic fungi associated with ethnomedicinal orchids of Meghalaya”.
He finished the work under the supervision of Prof. SR Joshi. Joshi leads the Department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics at the school. This academic milestone marks a key contribution to the study of the region's plant life.
