Shillong: Veteran United Democratic Party leader Bindo M. Lanong tore into party president Metbah Lyngdoh on Thursday. He blames Lyngdoh for the total collapse of Meghalaya’s biggest regional party. The party is in ruins. Lanong claims the current leadership remains the primary culprit behind this steady downfall.
Lanong spent years steering the UDP through tough times. Now, he sees a leadership failure. He insists Lyngdoh cannot balance his personal business ventures with the demands of party presidency. "He is unable to concentrate because of his priority in business and politics," Lanong said.
The outlook is grim. Lanong believes the organization may soon face a complete burial. The party once held deep roots across the state, but it has effectively crashed. Responsibility for this failure rests squarely with the head office.
