Guwahati: The first group of Assamese travelers made it home today. Devastating floods in Nepal left them trapped, but they finally cleared the border. They flew out of Bhadrapur Airport to escape the rising water.
Assam government officials managed the logistics for the group once they crossed into India. They provided transport to ensure every member reached their house safely. Officials remain focused on the remaining travelers still stuck in the flood zones. The state government continues to track those still trapped. It is a slow, difficult rescue operation as conditions stay dangerous across the region.
