Agartala: Assam Rifles conducted a specialized drone awareness demonstration for the Central Industrial Security Force at Agartala Airport on June 11. The training session, held at the facility's old terminal, aimed to sharpen security responses against the rising challenges posed by unmanned aerial vehicles.
The session provided CISF personnel with practical knowledge on identifying drones and executing safe interdiction procedures. Instructors covered essential detection techniques and mitigation strategies, while also reviewing the legal frameworks that govern drone operations around critical infrastructure. By focusing on these protocols, officials sought to prepare local security teams for unauthorized aerial threats.
Beyond technical skills, the program emphasized the necessity of inter-agency cooperation. Assam Rifles officials highlighted that information sharing between the CISF, airport authorities, and other security partners is vital to maintaining a secure environment. Participants were encouraged to maintain high levels of vigilance and adhere to established safety measures.
Senior leaders praised the initiative for enhancing operational readiness. The event concluded with a reinforced commitment to collaborative security, as one official noted that such programs "help strengthen operational readiness and foster better coordination among agencies tasked with protecting critical infrastructure."
