Agartala: The Assam Rifles and the Indian Army concluded a two-day joint training exercise in Tripura designed to improve disaster response and flood relief coordination. The drills, held on May 19 and 20, focused on synchronizing operational procedures and ensuring that both forces can work seamlessly during real-time emergencies.

Troops practiced rescue techniques and utilized shared equipment to establish a uniform approach to crisis management. Defense spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Mahendra Rawat explained that the primary goal of the exercise was to sharpen the operational efficiency of both organizations, ensuring they are prepared to provide timely assistance during natural disasters.

In a separate effort to strengthen safety in border regions, the Assam Rifles partnered with the Central Young Lai Association for a four-day disaster preparedness program in Mizoram. Held in the Lawngtlai district, this collaboration focused on creating a framework for rapid response. These initiatives reflect the commitment of the security forces to support civil authorities and protect public safety when natural disasters occur.
