Guwahati: Assam Rifles and the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence seized 109.2 kg of Yaba tablets in Hailakandi. The haul holds a market value of roughly Rs 327 crore. It is a massive hit. Operations ran from September 15 to 16 in the Ramnathpur area after agents received specific intelligence tips.
Officers pulled 546 packets of the stimulant from the haul. They also took two trucks, one mobile phone, an Aadhaar card, and a driving licence. Agencies moved fast. One person now sits in custody following the bust.
Officials confirmed the scale of the operation during a briefing on the incident. They described the recovery as "one of the largest Yaba seizures in the region." Investigators suspect the stash belonged to an organized narcotics ring pushing product across state lines.
The arrested suspect and all confiscated gear moved to the DRI office in Silchar. Agents there are handling the follow-up investigation and legal processing. The joint mission shows how agencies work to break up supply chains.
