Assam Police Constable Dies Following Road Accident

Guwahati: A 28-year-old police constable attached to the 9th Assam Police Battalion died on Wednesday morning while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Guwahati. Divya Jyoti Kalita had been battling critical injuries sustained during a road accident that occurred in the Nagaon district several days prior.

Kalita was stationed at the battalion headquarters in Barhampur and originally hailed from Nampani village in Puranigudam. The accident took place in the Chakrigao area, leading to his prolonged hospital stay before he eventually succumbed to his wounds.

News of his passing has caused significant sorrow among his colleagues at the battalion. Residents of his home village expressed their grief and remembered him as a friendly and well-regarded member of the police force.
