Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma reported that police intercepted 30 alleged illegal infiltrators. The group was blocked from entering India on October 17. Sarma credited the state force for the work. He took to X to highlight the operation.

The Chief Minister invoked religious imagery to describe the effort. He stated, "Mahishasur Mardini at the borders. With the blessings of Maa Durga, 30 illegal infiltrators have been identified by @assampolice and prevented from entering Bharat with their nefarious intentions." He added that the state remains alert on the borders every day.

The report provided no location for the interception. Authorities did not release the names or nationalities of the individuals. No timeline for the operation appeared in the update. The government offered no extra details on legal consequences for those stopped.

Sarma continues to push for strict border oversight. He previously claimed that police stopped similar groups in September. This latest push highlights the ongoing government focus on stopping illegal immigration through active patrols and monitoring.
