Guwahati: The Government of Assam and the European Union Delegation to India have launched the Blue Valley Cluster in Guwahati. This initiative aims to foster economic cooperation between Europe and Northeast India, specifically targeting the bioeconomy sectors of fragrances, flavours, and AYUSH wellness products.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and EU Ambassador to India Hervé Delphin led the launch, joined by representatives from the Ministry of External Affairs and the Federation of European Business in India. The project serves as a key component of the broader EU-India Comprehensive Strategic Agenda, focusing on research, industrial collaboration, and sustainable value chains.

Addressing the event, Ambassador Delphin noted, "Assam's natural resources, human talent and commitment to sustainable innovation make it an attractive destination for international businesses." He emphasized that the initiative will act as a corridor for European and Indian enterprises while focusing on long-term environmental and community development.

The Assam Industrial Development Corporation Limited and the Federation of European Businesses in India formalized their commitment by signing a Memorandum of Understanding to boost business-to-business ties and knowledge exchange. During the visit, the European delegation toured the Tata Semiconductor Assembly and Test facility in Jagiroad to observe the state's expanding manufacturing sector.

Chief Minister Sarma identified several high-potential sectors for future investment, including semiconductors, aviation, and organic food production. The government expects the Blue Valley Cluster to integrate local farmers, startups, and self-help groups into global markets, ultimately providing new opportunities for regional employment and sustainable economic growth.
