Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh Women's Welfare Society is demanding immediate action following the reported sexual assault of a 70-year-old woman. The incident occurred at Poblung village in Dambuk, Lower Dibang Valley, on September 9. This violence shocked the state. The organization slammed the attack as a disturbing violation of the victim's fundamental rights and safety.

Authorities must now prioritize the investigation. The society wants investigators to handle the case with extreme sensitivity while keeping the survivor's privacy at the forefront. They demanded that the district administration provide the woman with comprehensive medical care, psychological support, and legal protection. Officials must also ensure the survivor avoids further trauma during court proceedings.

"Age must never be a factor in determining whose dignity and safety deserve protection," the group stated. The organization stands firmly with the family. They insisted that the state must deliver justice and prevent such brutal incidents from happening again. Officials have yet to finalize the investigation into the allegations.
