Imphal: The All Naga Students' Association, Manipur (ANSAM) has issued a four-day deadline to the state government, demanding the immediate release of six Naga civilians allegedly abducted by Kuki militants. During a press conference in Senapati, association president Th. Angteshang Maring warned that failure to secure the hostages will trigger a formal boycott of the government led by Chief Minister Y. Khemchand.

The six individuals have been missing since May 13. Maring stated that the student body is acting in accordance with a resolution from the United Naga Council, which has sought the safe return of the hostages for the past 15 days. If the government fails to intervene, ANSAM may also call for Naga legislators to withdraw their support from the current administration.

Maring expressed deep frustration regarding the government's perceived inaction toward the security of the Naga people. He pointed to a pattern of unresolved violence, including past killings in the Kamjong area and the Chiru tribe, as evidence that the state has failed to protect its citizens. The student organization has urged the Naga community to remain united in their demand for justice as they prepare for potential escalation after the ultimatum expires.
