Imphal: The All Naga Students Association, Manipur (ANSAM) has issued a four-day ultimatum to state authorities, demanding the safe return of six Liangmai Naga hostages who remain missing after a May 13 abduction near Leimakhong. The group claims these individuals were taken by militants operating under the Suspension of Operations agreement.

During an emergency meeting on May 24, association members questioned the government's sincerity in handling the crisis. They specifically called for action against KNF(P) leadership, including Chairman Semtinthang and spokesperson Aaron Kipgen, alleging their direct involvement in the kidnappings.

The association further challenged the political appointments within the state, specifically questioning the placement of Nemcha Kipgen as Deputy Chief Minister. ANSAM members alleged that she maintains links to the KNF(P) militant group through her spouse, and they have demanded her immediate removal from office.

ANSAM warned that if the government fails to locate the missing hostages by June 2, they will organize a collective boycott of the current administration. The group is also urging Naga legislators to consider withdrawing their support from the government. Additionally, leadership criticized Home Minister Govindas Konthoujam for allegedly denying reports of violence against villages in the Kamjong district.
