Guwahati: Assam Finance and Forest Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah served as the chief guest for the 36th Central Foundation Day of the All Koch-Rajbongshi Students' Union. The event took place in Assam. It drew a large crowd.
Organizers included the Chilarai Sena, the Koch Rajbongshi Mahila Samiti, and the Udalguri Zila Koch Rajbongshi Sanmilani. The district units of AKRASU from Udalguri, Baksa, and Tamulpur also helped run the programme.
Baruah spoke to the gathered crowd about the group. He highlighted how the occasion marks the long history and cultural roots of the Koch-Rajbongshi people in the Northeast. He stated, "The event reflected the community's continued commitment to preserving its language, culture and identity."
The group released a commemorative volume titled Dhanashree to mark the milestone. Baruah praised the union for its ongoing work to protect the aspirations and traditions of the community.
