Tripura Pushes Water Security Goals at National Summit

Agartala: Tripura officials met in New Delhi to demand better water management. The two-day Departmental Summit on Water took place at Sushma Swaraj Bhavan. It gathered state and federal leaders to tackle supply gaps. Union Jal Shakti Minister C. R. Patil chaired the event.

Panchayat Minister Kishor Barman represented the state alongside Rural Development Secretary Abhishek Singh. They joined a roster of top officials from across India to swap strategies. Leaders focused on protecting natural resources and fixing existing water systems. They also pushed to speed up work on the Jal Jeevan Mission.

Barman used the platform to detail local successes and obstacles. He learned new tactics from other states to improve home-grown water projects. The goal remains clear. The state wants a steady flow of clean drinking water for every household. "Water is life, and its conservation and protection is a collective responsibility," Barman said.

The administration intends to stick to the Har Ghar Jal vision set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Officials hope these talks lead to a safer, more stable future for Tripura. They plan to keep building a water-secure India.
