Agartala: Tripura marked its inaugural State-Level Chakma Language and Script Day on Friday. A massive crowd filled the streets for a colorful rally. The march spanned from Astabal ground all the way to Rabindra Bhavan.

Participants wore traditional attire and chanted slogans to show pride in their mother tongue. The event centered on protecting indigenous identity. Minister for Industries and Commerce Santana Chakma led the proceedings. She reminded the crowd of the importance of heritage. She said, "script is the torchbearer of culture, and language is the foundation of identity."

The Minister stressed that Tripura thrives because of its diverse communities. She wants the Chakma language to grow right alongside Bengali, Kokborok, and other state tongues. The rally served as a public push for better access to education and literature in the native language. Supporters hope this recognition strengthens community bonds for future generations.
